Lindbergh High School’s Driver Education Program Takes Innovation for a Spin!
Nnovember 29, 2024
On November 29, 2024, the Lindbergh Schools Foundation was proud to celebrate Rob Droege, Driver Education teacher at Lindbergh High School (LHS), for his innovative approach to teaching safe driving skills. Thanks to a recent grant, Rob’s classroom now features remote control (RC) cars and batteries that will transform the way students learn.
With vehicle driving opportunities currently unavailable in the course and driving simulators still under development, these RC cars provide an engaging and effective way for students to practice real-world driving scenarios. From navigating intersections to understanding complex road rules, the RC cars offer an active, hands-on learning experience that goes beyond simply controlling a vehicle. This creative solution ensures students develop a deeper understanding of safe driving principles in a fun and controlled environment.
The RC cars were officially delivered to Rob’s classroom on Friday, November 22, 2024, by Lindbergh Schools Foundation staff alongside Kurt Mungenast, representing Kurt Mungenast Companies. This impactful grant was made possible by the generous support of the Foundation’s 2024-25 Pilot Sponsor, Kurt Mungenast Companies. Their dedication to enhancing educational experiences underscores the importance of community partnerships in fostering student success.
The Foundation is thrilled to provide these resources to Mr. Droege and his students. The RC cars bring a unique and exciting element to the Driver Education curriculum, helping students build critical skills in a safe and innovative way.
Congratulations to Rob Droege and the LHS Driver Education program for this forward-thinking initiative, and a heartfelt thank you to Kurt Mungenast Companies for their ongoing support of Lindbergh Schools. Together, we’re steering toward a future of empowered and informed young drivers!
