LHS Alumni Association Celebrates Educators, Graduates, Athletes at Annual Banquet

In a night filled with nostalgia, pride, and appreciation, Lindbergh High School celebrated the outstanding achievements of Distinguished Educators, Distinguished Alumni, and Athletic Hall of Fame inductees at the LHS Alumni Association's annual Alumni Awards Banquet on Wednesday, September 14.

This cherished tradition is an opportunity for the Lindbergh community to come together and honor those who have made exceptional contributions to education, the community, and athletics. The 2022 honorees represent a rich tapestry of dedication, achievement, and leadership.

Distinguished Educators

  1. Carole Myers: A Kindergarten teacher, Carole Myers, dedicated 34 years of her life to Lindbergh Schools, leaving an indelible mark on the countless young minds she nurtured throughout her illustrious career.
  2. John Weiss: With an impressive tenure of 37 years as a Lindbergh High School English teacher, John Weiss inspired generations of students with his passion for literature and language.

Distinguished Alumni

  1. Tom Daniels (Class of 1983): Tom Daniels, now a Fire Captain at Mehlville Fire Protection District 3 House, exemplifies the spirit of service and heroism, bravely serving his community.
  2. Bob Hawkins (Class of 1976): A local, state, and national leader, Bob Hawkins' contributions to society have left an enduring impact on the lives of many.
  3. Dr. Megan McBride (Class of 1993): Dr. Megan McBride has emerged as a prominent pediatrician at Mercy, dedicating her career to the well-being and health of children.
  4. David Sindelar (Class of 1975, posthumously): The late David Sindelar, honored posthumously, made a lasting impact as the CEO of St. Anthony's Medical Center, leaving behind a legacy of healthcare excellence.

Athletic Hall of Fame

  1. Miranda Gelven (Class of 1997): A master of diving, Miranda Gelven's achievements in the pool have earned her a place in Lindbergh's Athletic Hall of Fame.
  2. Jason Muehlheausler (Class of 2006): Known for his prowess on the football field, Jason Muehlheausler is celebrated as an exceptional athlete and leader.
  3. Jeff Streibig (Class of 2005): A wrestling champion, Jeff Streibig's dedication to his sport earned him a well-deserved spot in the Athletic Hall of Fame.
  4. Bill Thoele (Coach): Bill Thoele, a revered coach, has shaped the careers and character of Lindbergh's athletes, making him a beloved figure in the Lindbergh community.
  5. Bob Williams (Class of 1968): Bob Williams' prowess on the baseball diamond has earned him a permanent place in Lindbergh's Athletic Hall of Fame.

The Alumni Awards Banquet not only honors the exceptional achievements of these individuals but also serves as a fundraiser for the LHS Alumni Association. The funds raised from this event will be used to support scholarships for Lindbergh High School seniors, providing them with valuable opportunities to pursue their educational aspirations.
