2022-2023 Grant Winners
Beth Bridwell
Crestwood Elementary
Ms. Bridwell requested materials as a new garden has sprung and students K-5 have turned the area into a fairy garden for kids to play with at recess.
Brooke Huffman
Sperreng Middle School
Ms. Huffman requested to go grocery shopping at the local Walmart to grab ingredients for their weekly cooking lessons. The Functional Skills kids at Sperreng Elementary (PALS) are learning cooking and kitchen basics that may be helpful for job skills after high school.
Ginger Kekich
Truman Middle School
Ms. Kekich requested Palm Rejection Stylus Pens for 6-8 students to take notes during math activities. Students will use the pens in OneNote during their CT math, Modified Math classes, and other academic tasks using the iPad.
Holly Gleich
Truman Middle School
Ms. Gleich requested alternative seating and games for her classroom. Students in 6-8 can sit in bean bag chairs or exercise balls to benefit comfort and ability to focus. Games will be used for collaborative learning purposes for ELD students.

Ms.Christianell requested items for the Zen Den. In order to support the building at Sperreng and District's goals of wellness and teacher efficacy, Mrs. Christanell and others designed a space for teachers and staff called the Zen Den. The den is a relaxation experience that is linked each week to a theme of self-care. Items in the Zen Den include nutritious snacks, water, journals, aromatherapy, music, and other stress relief items.

Ms. Grebe requested safer cardboard tools to help increase the use of hands-on, evidence-based, experiential STEM learning that utilizes the engineering design process in Design Lab. Students at Long in grades 2-5, will use these materials when participating in the Global Cardboard Challenge, an annual initiative that requires critical and creative thinking.

Ms. Vescovo requested chair pouch organizers to hold books, pencil boxes, and math bins. The pouches will help utilize the space in the classroom and keep the room more organized.
Sonia Kesselring

Phishing via email is a cyber attack that can lead to student and staff data breaches. To encourage teachers and staff to report email phishing attempts, Lindbergh Technology organized "Don't Sweat the PD" chats in each school building to further educate staff about phishing and reporting. Sonia requested snacks to provide staff during the chats and 4 Wally gift cards as a raffle prize incentive for staff who reported an actual or simulated phishing attempt.

Mr. Wenger requested two Lego Boot Creative Toolbox for students in grades 6-8 in STEM Club to build, learn, and program robots! Students will be about to construct and code their robot to dance, rock out with a guitar, and explore.
Bryan Cintel and Nick Deaton
LHS
Mr. Cintel and Mr. Deaton requested two VEVOR Hydroponic Growing System Kits to educate future generations of students at Lindbergh about the process and importance of hydroponic gardening, botany, and more. Students in grade 12 will do a hands-on investigation regarding a science topic relevant to the course and get experience working in a group to develop their ability to work with technology to help gather scientific evidence.

Ms. Klohmann requested 50 live snails, 21 elodeas, a 10-gallon aquarium, and more! 9th grade students will use these items in a hands-on lab to explore the concepts of photosynthesis and cellular respiration.
David Wyss
LHS
Mr. Wyss requested four new Bluetooth speakers to use in the new band practice rooms. Students in grades 9-12 can use the speakers to pair sound for a metronome or to use them while playing along with backing tracks.

Ms. Dierker requested toys to turn her dramatic area into a pizza restaurant! The pizza restaurant will allow them to take turns, listen to others, learn to count pizza slices, and work together to be a part of a team.

Ms. Miller requested various toys to use during dramatic play to help her students learn various social skills, oral language, writing, literacy, problem solving, and more! The items she requested will help facilitate students' learning by creating a more authentic and engaging environment in her classroom.
